Prior to the advent of the computer and internet age, there still existed numerous marketing methods but they often tended to be more costly and slower to implement. Today we have computers, laptops, iPhones, iPads, the internet and access to people right around the world through so many different forms of communication that marketing has completely changed.

Direct mail used to be the favorite marketing method because you could post your material out to clients and include whatever you wanted. There weren’t ‘spam filters’ to stop your physical mail getting through. Of course, people had the choice of whether to read your advertising material but at least it got to them.

Nowadays, most businesses rely heavily upon online marketing methods to get their message across.
